Harry Potter Amigurumi crochet series

Welcome back crafters 🖐

Wanted to show you my latest makes. My niece is a massive Harry Potter fan (myself included 😂). Her birthday was fast approaching so I had decided to look up a pattern for Harry to wip up quickly as I had a month to master it.

I searched the Web and finally came across – daisyandstorm.com where I found the whole Harry Potter crochet series.

I started with Harry –

I made his glasses out of electrical cable, striped the plastic off and bent the copper wire with pliers. Twisting it to form the shape of the glasses. His wand was made from wood carved to make a small wand.

She absolutely loved the gift, her appreciation and love for Harry made me want to make another one of the characters to add to her collection.

Christmas was fast approaching and I wanted to wip up another character in time. I decided Hermione would be next –

I was happy with how she turned out and my niece was very impressed 🤗 I will continue in this series crocheting the remaining characters. I am thinking Dumbledoor will be my next project.

I will be posting an update as I go along with this series, so follow my blog to receive an email notification of when I upload 😀👍

Keep crafting! ❤

Mr Bean and Teddy Crochet

Hiya fellow Hookers 🖐

This is Mr Bean, and Mr Beans cutest and biggest fan 💙 One of the things I love about gifting an amigurumi toy to a child is the utter joy and excitement on their wee faces.

I thought it would be a nice idea to wip up a Mr bean toy for a Christmas gift. Unfortunately i couldn’t find a pattern anywhere, only lovely photos. So i decided to mix and match patterns from the book -AmiguruME @

//ws-eu.amazon-adsystem.com/widgets/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&OneJS=1&Operation=GetAdHtml&MarketPlace=GB&source=ac&ref=tf_til&ad_type=product_link&tracking_id=craftycaz-21&marketplace=amazon&region=GB&placement=1454703970&asins=1454703970&linkId=2e8b936cd8b7f42d4d9272e3c384bd55&show_border=false&link_opens_in_new_window=false&price_color=333333&title_color=0066C0&bg_color=FFFFFF

Which give me the opportunity to pick my own version of what I thought he looked like. Picking what I wanted from the book was great fun. I would recommend purchasing, it works as a great template for any human amigurumi project and will come in handy for future projects.

For his features (eyes, eyebrows and mouth) I embroidered them free style copied from a photograph of Mr Bean. Just go with it and create your own unique version.

It’s all about experimenting and building confidence in yourself, believing In your talents in this wonderful craft of crochet. I am so pleased with how he turned out as I didn’t know what to expect!

Thanks for visiting and keep crafting my lovelies 😘

Crochet – Rubik’s cube

A very warm welcome my fellow hookers 🖑

Crochet is one of my favourite crafts. I had tried and failed for many years but when i decided to give it another shot about 5 years ago, it all just made sense to me and i finally got it!

Today I want to showcase ‘a big art attack’ that I created for a friend who always admired my finished projects. He had hinted many times that he wanted something handmade and didn’t want it to be an easy one 😂 WELL I took that quite literally..

So from there I bagan the exciting journey of wrecking my brain about what I could make that was totally different to anything I had ever seen or heard of before. I wondered could i crochet a massive rubiks cube?!

I DID IT! And loved every minute of it! Go on, give it a go!

Instructions:-

OK let’s get started. Firstly you will need 400g of each colour of the following yarn – Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, White and Orange. Also 200g of black for the boarder and to sew together.

Choose which colour you would like to use first and chain 26.

Row 1-25: Double crochet in second chain from hook, and into each chain space across, chain 1 turn (25)

Continue to make 8 more squares using the same coloured yarn and method as rows 1-25.

Using black coloured yarn work 1 double crochet into each stitch around the individual squares, to form a boarder.

Continue to work each colour in the same method as above ☝☝☝ proceed to sew the same coloured squares together.

You should have 6 sides of 9 squares on each. At this point we need to sew all the sides together – as shown in attached graph⬇ Now form the cube leaving the top flap open as we need to stuff it. (I used a duvet and pillows in mine, but toy stuffing is also an option). When you are satisfied with the amount of filling sew on the top flap. And there you have it, complete! 👍👌

please get in touch if you decide to make this as I would love to see your finished project!

Also check out the photos attached below of the finished piece⬇⬇⬇ I am so happy with how it turned out. I gifted this to my friend as a Christmas present. It is the most amazing feeling. The look of shock and amazement on someone’s face receiving a handmade gift that you spent soooooo long perfecting, just priceless. 😊

Happy hooking my lovelies! ❤
