The 1st day of February, it marks the day of St Bridget, the second patron saint of Ireland. The day the farmers with bad ground are boasting.
The Saint Bridget’s cross is usually made from rushes. It is traditionally believed that the cross protects the home from fire.
I went ganthering rushes as you can see with great success. Plus I had a very handsome helper 😉
Simple to make and if you have missed the 1st of February, it’s not too late these can still be crafted way after February!
I will insert a step by step picture guide I found on Google if you would like to have a go at making some –
Happy crafting! ❤
